Hero (Hero Interim Professionals; online at hero.eu, internationally hero.works) is a Dutch family-owned company that has been connecting organisations with interim professionals since 2007. The company operates under the pay-off The global company next door. — a line that is never translated, in any market.

History

Founded in 2007 as an interim staffing firm, Hero grew from a Dutch specialist into a company with international reach while remaining family-owned. Continuity and long-term relationships take precedence over short-term profit, and two house rules have been in place since the early years: "everything we say is 100% true" and "making mistakes is allowed — reporting them is required".

Model

Hero offers a tiered service model, from a free entry point to a fully managed contingent workforce:

  • Free — meet and match at no cost on the open marketplace Hero Direct.
  • Silver (€79 per contract per month) — contract & pay, worker-classification checks and pay-when-paid.
  • Gold (2.5–4% of spend) — adds indemnification and benefits.
  • Platinum (1.5–3% of managed spend) — Hero as MSP, managing the client's entire flexible workforce.

Pay-when-paid is the default payment mechanism; a paid benefit turns it around: "always paid — even if the end client goes bankrupt, 100% credit-insured". Permanent positions run through the separate label hero.jobs, and a single Hero Passport account opens every hero. site.

Organisation

Headquarters are at WTC Schiphol Airport, Schiphol Boulevard 251, 1118 BH Schiphol, the Netherlands. For international operations, entities have been incorporated in Paris (Hero France SAS), New York (Hero USA Inc.) and Singapore (Hero Singapore Pte. Ltd.); these offices are under construction ("coming soon"). Company communications consistently centre on the business and its model rather than on individuals.

Key figures

Hero's network counts more than 30,000 professionals, with over 2,900 active placements, a 94% satisfaction rate, and a first match typically proposed within 48 hours.

Culture

The working method is summarised as The Perfect Match: matching on skills and culture fit in equal measure. First meetings preferably happen over #koffie — a conversation with no sales pitch. Both concepts have their own entries.
